As the morning sun hit the mountain peaks I crawled out of the tent and packed up. I spent a little while watching the sunlight slowly work its way down to the base of the mountain.
Then I hit the highway again on my way to Bishop for breakfast.
Filling up both my stomach and truck in Bishop I continued North to Mammoth Lakes. Just to the West of the town was the Devils Postpile National Monument. After I paid my entry at the little shack, the park ranger told me I would have to wait about 20 minutes. There was a logging crew clearing up a few logs on the road. The best place to wait, she informed me, was at the lookout point. A crowed gathered at the lookout. So after the 20 minute wait, everyone rushed to their cars. I waited a bit longer since I was in no hurry.
